The Igartubeiti Baserri Museum has released its new publication 'Barne Begiradak II: Territory, tradition and transmission', which merges heritage and contemporary art, responding to territorial challenges.

The Igartubeiti Baserri Museum has actively engaged with the challenges of its territory in recent years, fostering contexts that support artistic practices linked to cultural heritage, advocating for more sustainable lifestyles, and building new community bonds. To directly address these challenges, Igartubeiti has developed three activities within the PATRIM 4.0 project: the artistic residency of Asier Gogortza, the program "Hibridación de saberes", and the "Territorio, tradición y transmisión" encounter.
In this second publication, all texts are united by a common thread: Craftsmanship and artistic practice as processes of heritage renewal and transformation. 'Barne Begiradak II' gathers the perspectives of authors who, from their experience and practice, offer new reflections.
The work explores how heritage and museums can generate the future, examining craftsmanship, territory, and local development through the insights of Jordi Abella, anthropologist and director of the Ecomuseu de les valls d'Àneu. Additionally, Itziar de la Granja shares her view on "La cestería. Más que un oficio" (Basketry. More than a craft), and artist Laurita Siles addresses the theme "Las manos no entienden de dicotomías" (Hands do not understand dichotomies).
Furthermore, Asier Gogortza presents "Set Andròmines i quatre artistes" (Six Gadgets and Four Artists), and Amaia Dorronsoro, a member of the teaching staff at the Public School of Ezkio-Itsaso, explores "La magia de la fotografía: una oportunidad para situar el presente en los paisajes del pasado" (The magic of photography: an opportunity to place the present in the landscapes of the past). The publication is available in Basque, Spanish, and English, and its design adheres to accessibility measures.
