On Saturday, starting at 17:55, the 10th edition of the Ordizia Meeting will take place. Organized by the Txindoki-Jaso Athletics Club, the event will gather notable athletes and introduce several innovations. The day before the competition, on Friday at 20:00, the official presentation of the athletes will be held in the town center of Ordizia.
At the presentation, Eneko Agirrezabal, president of the Txindoki athletics club, along with representatives from supporting public and private institutions such as Adur Ezenarro and Leire Artola, mayors of Ordizia and Beasain respectively, acknowledged the club's work and the event's growth. The meeting has achieved international status, being part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze.
The organizers aim to offer quality athletics and attractive competitions while upholding values of equality and inclusion. This year, the long jump event will be relocated, and additional seating will be installed, ensuring space for 1,200 spectators. An offering for families and young people, including inflatables, will also be expanded.
Beyond the sports activities, a talk titled 'Women in Athletics' has been organized in Beasain today at 19:00 in the Igartza Palace, and specialized lighting has been contracted to enhance the spectacle.
Among the prominent athletes participating are, for the 100 meters, Desiree Henry, Eric Cardoso, and Felipe Bardi; for the 400 meters, Oscar Husillos; for the 800 meters, Moad Zahafi; for the 1500 meters, Mariano Garcia; for the 110 meter hurdles, Asier Martinez; in the long jump, Fatima Diame and Irati Mitxelena; and in shot put, Belén Toimil and Maria Vicente.
Furthermore, the Ordizia Meeting has received a certification for its sustainability efforts, integrating environmental criteria into its organization.
