The Zumarraga City Council has launched the latest edition of the ZuEKIN Eskolara initiative, investing 50,000 euros in shopping vouchers for local families.

The program will support 880 children and teenagers registered in Zumarraga. Eligible families will receive 60-euro vouchers by mail, provided they are registered in the municipality before May 1, 2026.
The vouchers can be used from July 1 to October 31, 2026, at participating local businesses, including bookstores, sports shops, shoe stores, and opticians.
Municipal figures indicate that nearly 90% of the investment is spent on school and sports equipment. By sector, sports-related purchases account for 49.8% of the total, while bookstores represent 39.9%.

Every purchase made in local commerce creates a shared benefit: it provides relief to the household economy, sustains economic activity, helps maintain employment, and strengthens the vitality of the municipality.
