The Urretxu Town Hall, through its Department of Diversity and Coexistence, has implemented the 'Ongi Etorri' service. This initiative will assist individuals and families newly arriving in the territory, offering them the necessary welcome, information, and guidance as they begin their journey. The service will be available in the mornings and afternoons, although during the summer period, it is currently only offered in the mornings.
Interested individuals must schedule an appointment to receive the service. The council explains that the 'Ongi etorri' service is part of the II Municipal Plan for Diversity and Coexistence of Urretxu and will complement the 'Urretxun Bizi Gara' welcome school. It represents an advancement in the renewal of the 'Welcome Protocol 2014', which will be updated and launched after years of work. To this end, new materials will be created with contributions from professionals working in the field of diversity.
Furthermore, they remind the public that the enrollment period for the 'Urretxun Bizi Gara' welcome school is open until July 30th. This municipal initiative is aimed at residents born outside of Euskadi, as well as anyone wishing to gain a deeper understanding of the society, history, opportunities, and resources of Urretxu and the Urola Garaia region.
Sessions for this twelfth edition of 'Urretxun Bizi Gara' will take place on Fridays, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Aizpurunea cultural center. From September 25th to November 27th, students will receive completely free classes in the form of talks, excursions, visits, and workshops.
To participate in the 'Urretxun Bizi Gara' welcome school, registration is required. Both appointment requests and registrations must be made through the Urretxu Department of Diversity and Coexistence (telephone: 693 900 568 and email: aniztasuna@urretxu.eus).
