The athlete, a member of the Zatika Women team from Urretxu, began her cycling journey at the age of 10. Currently, she is preparing for teaching examinations, combining her passion for sports with education.
“"Cycling has helped me build my identity, and part of who I am today is thanks to it."
She stated that this sport has provided her with friendships, constancy, discipline, and the ability to fight for her goals. Competitive cycling has also taught her to be mentally stronger, as results are not always as expected.
She spends around 15-20 hours a week on her bicycle, performing various training sessions to work on endurance, intensity, and strength. Additionally, she complements this with strength training in the gym. She acknowledges that cycling is a very demanding sport, as, in addition to training, nutrition and rest are fundamental, which implies sacrificing many aspects, especially social ones.
Her most memorable races have been those held in the UCI category Eibar prize in the last two years, where she had the opportunity to compete with the best female cyclists in the world. This gave her self-confidence.
Among her short-term goals is to arrive in the best possible shape for a couple of races. In the long term, her main objective is to continue improving her performance and enjoying cycling. Her dream is to become a professional cyclist.
Besides cycling, she enjoys making plans with friends and family, and listening to music, especially Basque music. In the educational field, she completed her Early Childhood Education degree in June 2025 and is currently preparing for examinations and undertaking substitute teaching roles. In the future, she plans to pursue a Primary Education degree or a master's, as she has a vocation to work in education. She envisions herself living in a small town.
