The Beasain City Council presented the 2026 Autumn Cultural program this morning. A total of 55 activities will make up the offering, which will be announced in two phases: the first, from September 25 to October 23, and the second, from October 24 to November 8.
At the presentation, mayor Leire Artola and culture technician Amaia Gomez de Segura highlighted the social and community value of culture. Artola emphasized that the Autumn Cultural is not just a collection of isolated events, but rather the main showcase of how Beasain experiences culture, creating meeting points and strengthening cohesion among citizens.
Amaia Gomez de Segura detailed the technical aspects of the program. With the exception of performances at the Usurbe Theater and some workshops in Igartza, all other activities will be free, ensuring accessibility. The presence of Basque language will also be guaranteed in almost all events.
Among this year's novelties, the Bonberie building will be added as a new hub and showcase for the cultural offering. It will host, among other things, the exhibition for the XXXV Open-Air Painting Contest from October 18 to November 1.
Furthermore, the 5th anniversary of the Ekaitz association and the 40th anniversary of the creation of the town's first two giants (Mari and Basajaun) will be celebrated. Renewed giants will be presented, and games and workshops related to Basque mythology will be organized.
There will also be proposals for children, youth, and families, such as reading clubs, an Eko jolasak workshop, an Archery tag strategy game, an Euskape room, and a monologue by Jon Plazaola. Additionally, the XIX Mountain Festival, bertsolari sessions, street theater, dance and music performances, and the 34th edition of the Beasaingo Paperak collection have been programmed.
