Beasain City Council has increased incentives for those taking their driving theory exam in Basque, adding a raffle for two electric mopeds to an existing 150-euro subsidy.

The Beasain City Council has updated its campaign to promote the use of Basque in the field of driving. As part of the 'Gidabaimenak Euskaraz' initiative, a new incentive has been introduced: the raffle of two electric mopeds for those who take their theory exam in Basque, complementing the existing financial aid of up to 150 euros.
To qualify for the financial aid, students must complete their training at one of the three driving schools in Beasain and pass the theory exam in Basque. All requirements and procedures are available on the municipal website.
To participate in the raffle, applicants must be at least 15 years old and have completed their training and theory exam in Basque between January 1 and December 3, 2026. Winners must provide a certificate proving they took the exam in Basque; if not available at the time of the draw, a three-month period will be granted to submit the documentation.
The council noted that local driving schools have updated teaching materials and resources in Basque, ensuring there are no obstacles to completing the training in this language. The goal is for citizens to view learning in Basque as an attractive and accessible option, thereby contributing to linguistic normalization in all areas of daily life.
