The Antzizar sports center in Beasain transformed into a swimming hub today, with the staging of the 37th Popular Antzizar Trophy and the 23rd Leire Contreras Memorial. Around 80 swimmers from various clubs gathered to participate in the events.
Representatives from clubs such as Aloñamendi, Ordizia-Lazkao, Buruntzaldea, and Hernani, among others, were present. The competition commenced at 10:30 AM and was divided into two main parts.
The first segment saw swimmers compete in individual races, utilizing four different strokes: breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, and freestyle. Following this, an Australian test was conducted to measure speed and endurance.
In the Australian race, boys and girls from all levels swam across the width of the pool in series. The last-placed participant in each round was eliminated until a winner was determined.
