As a scientific dissemination point, Beasain's Erauskin Square is hosting the 'Bi ilunabarreko eguna' exhibition, an educational proposal from the local scientific network available from this weekend until April 20. The display, comprising four three-sided totems and twelve infographics, simply and accessibly explains the eclipse scheduled for August 12, an astronomical phenomenon of great interest.
The exhibition's content is designed to facilitate the understanding of these natural events for audiences of all ages, combining scientific rigor with a clear pedagogical approach. Therefore, this initiative is highly recommended for both school visits and adults interested in astronomy and science in general.
This traveling exhibition is organized by the Jakindari alliance, promoted by the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation, and includes entities such as Lemniskata and the Beasain City Council itself. Furthermore, this exhibition will not be exclusive to the municipality, as it is part of a broader program that will tour various towns in the community.
To complement the exhibition, guided tours have been scheduled for April 17, led by Virginia García from the Aranzadi Science Society. These sessions will take place at 6:00 PM in Euskera and 7:00 PM in Spanish, allowing attendees to delve deeper into the exhibition's content and resolve questions. Additionally, Lemniskata members participating in the guided tour will receive approved glasses for safe eclipse observation as a gift.
With this initiative, Beasain reinforces its commitment to scientific dissemination in public spaces, bringing highly relevant natural phenomena closer to citizens through accessible and participatory formats.
