The Alegia neighborhood has prepared the program to launch the Madalena festivals. Today, July 17th, the festivities will erupt with the txupinazo at 7:15 PM. Activities planned for the weekend will be spread between today and tomorrow, and the festivals will conclude on Wednesday, Madalena Day, with a full-day program.
Following the txupinazo, there will be a cider tasting today, starting at 7:30 PM. This year, ciders from the Association of Sidreros of Gipuzkoa and from local farmhouses will be available for tasting, with a total of about 12 different varieties.
The Friday town dinner has gained momentum in recent years. This year, 270 people have registered for the crowded dinner, which will be attended by locals and people from surrounding towns. The romeria by the group Joselu Anaiak will also be present on the first day of the festivals.
On Saturday, mus and toka championships will be held. Afterwards, Itsasoko Ostatu will offer a barbecue, and Joxe Mendizabal will provide the dancing atmosphere.
On Wednesday, Madalena Day, a full-day program has been organized. There will be a mass accompanied by the choir Izazpe, followed by an exhibition of vintage cars. Two residents will display restored cars, motorcycles, and a special bicycle, mostly from the early 20th century. In the afternoon, the Madalena Day program will be completed with children's parks, wine tastings, and a performance by Dj Unai.
