The CiderWorld'26 event, taking place in the German city of Frankfurt from Thursday to Saturday, features Gipuzkoa as this year's guest territory of honor. This gathering is one of Europe's most significant international cider events, bringing together industry professionals and consumers interested in the world of cider.
Representatives from the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, Sagardoaren Lurraldea, and the Zapiain, Gurutzeta, and Petritegi cider houses, all from Astigarraga, have traveled to Frankfurt to participate in the first day. On Thursday, a technical working meeting and a presentation will be held by the Tourism Department of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, aimed at tourism sector professionals, including travel agencies and tour operators.
Following this, an institutional presentation will be given to tourism professionals, journalists specializing in gastronomy and tourism, and experts from the cider sector. The objective is to promote Gipuzkoa as a tourist destination and disseminate cider culture. The Director of Tourism, Libe Otegui, will participate, and a video will be screened to showcase the territory.
To conclude the day, a 'txotx'-style dinner will be offered for 100 people at the Bornheimer Ratskeller restaurant in Frankfurt. Several kupelas (large wooden barrels) will be installed, allowing participants to taste cider directly from the 'txotx' and experience a traditional Gipuzkoan cider house. The three cider houses from Astigarraga will be responsible for this dinner.
Throughout the three days, in addition to participating in the activities organized within the CiderWorld program, various initiatives will be carried out to promote Gipuzkoa as a tourist destination, always centered around cider culture.
