The 'Parketarrak' program, organized by Beasain City Council and the Hezten association, has been relaunched this April with the aim of promoting the use of the Basque language through play sessions for families.

This initiative, now in its fifth edition, seeks to strengthen linguistic habits through shared play, extending beyond the classroom. Sessions will take place on April 15, 22, and 29, as well as May 6, in various parks across the municipality.
According to the City Council, one of the main challenges is to expand the use of Basque beyond the school environment, integrating it into daily spaces such as family leisure. The program is structured into two age-adapted segments: 'Zabu Zibu' and 'Txirrintxon'.
The 'Zabu Zibu' block, running from 4:45 PM to 5:45 PM, is aimed at children aged 3 to 5 years and requires adult participation to foster Basque interaction within the family unit. Subsequently, 'Txirrintxon', from 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM, offers group dynamics for children aged 6 to 9 years.
Staff from Hezten will facilitate the activities, guiding the games in a participatory atmosphere. This initiative, held in both spring and autumn, has grown in popularity in recent years, gathering 187 minors and 34 adults in 2025.
