After the recent heatwaves, Gipuzkoa will experience a respite today. According to Euskalmet, maximum temperatures will be around 26 degrees in the coastal area, while inland, in towns like Arrasate, Beasain, or Zizurkil, thermometers will mark up to 28 degrees. Yesterday, these same areas registered highs of 38-39 degrees.
The difference compared to Sunday is notable from early morning. While on Sunday many localities started the day above 30 degrees, this Monday the minimum temperatures have barely exceeded 23 degrees in most places, and in Bidania, a low of 17.1 degrees was recorded. In Zarautz, where Sunday began at 31.7 degrees, today's temperature did not reach 22 degrees in the morning.
Today, medium and high clouds will predominate, especially in the afternoon, and weak northwesterly winds will cool the atmosphere. However, this relief will be temporary.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the heat will return with force. Euskalmet has activated a yellow alert for high temperatures in the interior of Gipuzkoa between 12 PM and 7 PM, as a new influx of southeasterly winds is expected to raise maximum temperatures to 35 degrees. On the coast, the increase will be milder, around 30 degrees, with northerly winds providing relief in the afternoon.
For the rest of the week, a new change is anticipated. Maximum temperatures will drop slightly, settling around 25-26 degrees on the coast, with minimums around 20 degrees. From Wednesday onwards, rain is likely to be the protagonist for several days.
