This grant program will distribute aid ranging from 5,000 to 18,000 euros for those organizing meetings, incentives, congresses, and exhibitions (MICE) in the territory. Interested parties can submit their applications until 2:30 PM on June 15 through the electronic headquarters of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council.
“"Tourism linked to congresses allows attracting tourist activity outside the high season, which makes it a strategic ally to reduce seasonality and strengthen the economic fabric of the territory. As a result, it allows building a stronger, more stable sector, less dependent on summer tourist peaks."
The provincial deputy emphasized the significant role of MICE tourism in creating stable and higher-quality jobs within the sector. Furthermore, this type of tourism helps reduce seasonality by attracting tourist activity even outside peak periods, thereby strengthening the region's economic fabric.
The amount of aid will vary depending on the type of activity. Organizers of fairs, exhibitions, or trade shows will receive 25% of the eligible cost, with a maximum of 7,500 euros for one-day events, 10,000 euros for two-day events, and 12,500 euros for events lasting three or more days.
For those conducting tourism activities in Gipuzkoa during professional or business congresses, conventions, and corporate events, the subsidy will be 75% of eligible expenses, with a maximum of 5,000 euros per beneficiary, or 7,500 euros if the event includes more than one tourism activity. For gastronomy-related events, the aid will be 40% of eligible expenses, with a maximum of 12,000 euros per project and 18,000 euros per beneficiary entity.
