The Emergency Service of Osakidetza attended to fourteen people in Euskadi this Wednesday due to high temperatures, the majority in Gipuzkoa, where eleven cases were registered. The patients range from four to 93 years old, presenting a diverse range of clinical symptoms.
According to Osakidetza, approximately ten people had to be transferred to health centers for monitoring of their condition, which is not considered serious.
The oppressive heat of previous days is beginning to subside, giving way to a more familiar scenario in Gipuzkoa. As predicted, the heat has not completely disappeared, but it can no longer be classified as a meteorological anomaly. This afternoon, cloudy skies, a shift in wind direction to the northwest, and a temperature drop of up to eight degrees compared to the previous day have made walking a pleasant experience once again.
The heat persists, even though the red alert for extreme temperatures is no longer in effect. It can be said that this is a gradual return to normality, as today's conditions, in a different context, would have been described as hot. In fact, the thermometer has once again surpassed 40 degrees in the inland areas of the territory.
Zizurkil recorded the highest temperature again, reaching 40.3º. Although high, this represents a drop of four degrees compared to the record set in the same locality on Wednesday, when the mercury soared to 44 degrees.
