The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council will promote an extensive program of activities in conjunction with the final phase of the Women's Handball Queen's Cup, to be held at the Illunbe venue in Donostia from May 8 to 10.

This event will offer an experience that goes beyond the competition, open to all citizens, and will include a 'fan zone'. The sports event will take place at Donostia's Illunbe venue from May 8 to 10, but its impact will extend for several weeks to various municipalities and areas of the territory, as announced by the Gipuzkoan provincial institution.
The Illunbe 'fan zone', spanning over 12,000 square meters, will be one of the main meeting points of the weekend. It will feature a children's area, inflatables, workshops, food trucks, tents from collaborating entities, and a stage for performances.
The planned program includes proposals aimed at minors, families, clubs, coaches, former players, and the general public. The objective is to highlight values such as equality, inclusion, female leadership, and sport as a tool for social cohesion.
The program incorporates various technical training sessions led by top-level players and coaches in different parts of the territory. Zumaia, Donostia, and Bergara will host specific training sessions focusing on aspects such as decision-making, 1v1 in attack and defense, and off-ball play.
Additionally, a special open training session of Super Amara Bera Bera will be held, alongside the adapted handball teams of the Taupada League, as well as a 'Handball in the Street' day in the municipalities of Zumarraga, Errenteria, and Andoain.
Under the slogan “Together We Lead”, the Captains Program will address female leadership in sports through talks, meetings, and round tables. Among the planned activities are an online conference on refereeing, handball sessions for mothers, a veterans' gathering, and a round table on motherhood and family reconciliation in sports.
Furthermore, handball will take over the center of Donostia with 'Plazaratu. Handball in the Street', which will include the installation of a court in Alderdi Eder. Matches will be played there, players from Super Amara Bera Bera will visit, and meetings will be held with girls, families, and institutional representatives.
