Elesa+Ganter Ibérica, located in Soraluz (Gipuzkoa), designs and manufactures machinery components for the manufacturing industry. Engaged in a digital transformation process, the company is undertaking a project to develop an autonomous robot warehouse aimed at increasing storage capacity and improving management processes. This initiative has received support from the SPRI Group's industrial cybersecurity program, which seeks to strengthen Basque industry against sensitive information theft and cyberattacks with the assistance of specialized suppliers.
Founded in 1997 following the acquisition of Gabilondo Resinol by Elesa and Ganter, the company, as explained by manager Jesús Blanco, benefits from Elesa's over 80 years of experience and leadership in technical plastics and industrial design, and Ganter's more than 130 years of experience in standardized metal elements. Together, they offer the most extensive range of standard elements for machinery available on the market.
The company currently has a turnover of 12 million euros, having increased its revenue tenfold over the past 15 years. It is immersed in a digital transformation process that encompasses the entire organization, including the digitalization of internal processes and the modernization of communication and customer relations.
It supplies standard machine elements to nearly all sectors of the manufacturing industry, including food and pharmaceuticals (with components certified for food use), automotive, heavy machinery, advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0, packaging, textiles, wood, and plastics. Its catalog features over 115,000 product references.
The company employs 38 people and is headquartered in Soraluz. On a group level, Elesa+Ganter has subsidiaries in over 10 countries and a distribution network reaching more than 70 countries. The group's R&D activities are centralized in the technical departments of the two parent companies, with centers in Monza (Italy) and Furtwangen (Germany), making continuous investments in product innovation and performance improvement, resulting in over 200 patents and more than 50 international industrial design awards.
The latest support received through the SPRI Group's industrial cybersecurity program has focused on strengthening business continuity and data replication via a second server, enhancing perimeter security and segmenting the network, forming the foundation of their digital transformation.
Future challenges are structured around two main axes: completing the company's digital transformation by transitioning from manual processes to an integrated and measurable operation across all areas, and further improving the service level for customers in the Spanish market, ensuring nearly 100% of received orders are dispatched within 24 hours. To achieve this, they will implement the project to assemble and install the automated warehouse using autonomous robots, which will allow for a storage capacity increase of over 30% and enhance the speed and efficiency of warehouse management processes.
