Caritas Gipuzkoa will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a public event this Friday in Donostia's Trinidad Square, featuring testimonies from individuals connected to the organization.

The celebrations will commence in Trinidad Square, moving to the steps of the Santa María Church if it rains. Volunteers, staff, and individuals supported by the entity will participate in a large family photo and share various personal accounts.
Additionally, on May 21, the first Companies with a Heart recognition event will take place at the Zubia hall of the María Cristina Hotel. This event will highlight the commitment of several Gipuzkoa companies that have collaborated with the organization over the years. The keynote speech will be delivered by consultant Iranzu Sáinz de Murieta, titled The Future of the Committed Company: Purpose, Impact, and Measurement.
On June 5, the Gipuzkoa Medical Association will host a technical conference for professionals, analyzing the latest FOESSA report on Exclusion and Social Development in Euskadi. Experts such as sociologist Sebastián Mora and specialists Marina Sánchez-Sierra and Joseba Zalakain will participate. Two roundtables will also be held on the future of the Welfare State and the role of the third sector in addressing inequalities.
Caritas Gipuzkoa was officially established in 1966, following the Second Vatican Council, as a non-profit association. Its mission is inspired by the pastoral constitution Gaudium et Spes, which places the Church alongside people, especially those in situations of poverty or suffering, promoting human dignity and the common good.

"The celebration of Caritas Gipuzkoa's 60 years is, above all, a moment of gratitude. It is to remember a shared journey in which thousands of volunteers, members, donors, and professionals, with their selfless commitment, generosity, and profound humanity, have made it possible to accompany the suffering, fragility, and hope of so many people in situations of vulnerability and social exclusion."
