A 40-year-old man was arrested in Legutio this Saturday, accused of assaulting his partner, who needed hospital care for her injuries, according to the Ertzaintza.

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Legutio this Saturday, accused of assaulting his partner, who had to be attended at a hospital for the injuries caused, the Basque Department of Security reported.
Early in the morning, the Ertzaintza received a report of an assault on a woman at a residence in Legutio, where the victim and the now-detained man lived together.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed the suspect remained inside the property, while the woman was outside with signs of having been beaten, exhibiting injuries across her body.
After attempting to contact the alleged aggressor, the woman authorized officers to force entry. Police located the man in one of the house's rooms and arrested him on suspicion of gender-based violence.
The detainee has been transferred to police facilities, where he will remain until brought before a judge.
The victim, 39 years old and of the same origin, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained throughout her body.
