The Aztarna Beltza Festival will return to Murgia this Friday through Sunday, continuing its tradition of bringing a refreshing mix of established artists and young promises to the public. According to the organizers, this is combined with values such as closeness, inclusion, sustainability, and equality.
This year, Gorbeialdea will host the fourth edition of Aztarna Beltza in Murgia before it moves to Gasteiz, which will hold its event from July 2nd to 5th. Several surprises for the Gasteiz event will be announced shortly.
With the collaboration of the Murgia City Council, Fundación Vital, the Provincial Council of Álava, and the Basque Government, the festival will present a lineup headed by Jhana Beat. On Friday, Ion Ander Somovilla's Ekitxirrigurdi will warm up the atmosphere at 7:00 PM in Plaza Bea with its recycled art installation, powered by solar energy and featuring speakers, inviting attendees to dance and even DJ.
On Saturday, Taberna Repair will offer a workshop on fixing old items starting at noon. Following that, at 12:30 PM, Arantza Cordero will present a storytelling session. Meanwhile, from 1:00 PM, the public can explore the honey culture of Gorbeialdea, tasting local products while learning about their production and the importance of bees for the environment.
At 7:00 PM, music will be provided by Doctor Sax, accompanied by Maite Colás and Jon Bellido. At 9:00 PM, it will be time for Jhana with her "electrorgánica" mix of beatbox, improvisation, and guitar. The Saturday closing will be by Bubblin’ Sound System from 11:00 PM, featuring Ziztada and Rlantz.
Sunday will begin at 11:00 AM with a family yoga session in the gardens of Villa Jesusa, offered by Ainara Ortiz de Barron. Around noon, during the vermouth hour, the 35 voices of the gospel choir Udaberria, directed by Ramón Escalé, will provide the perfect prelude to the festival's closing, which will feature Vitoria-Gasteiz native June Molina.
In summary, the festival offers five concerts and four activities for all audiences. Its director, David Elejalde, stated, “We are proud and grateful to once again bring to this wonderful environment a rich and varied program that intertwines fun, culture, and sustainability.”
