This route, increasingly used by both pedestrians and cyclists, will see its safety conditions strengthened thanks to the upcoming installation of new lighting points along various sections. The work will include the installation of new luminaires, electrical connections, functional testing, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with current safety and energy efficiency regulations at all times.
The Mayor of Güeñes, Juan Andrés Iragorri, emphasized that "we continue to take firm steps in improving our infrastructures," highlighting that the new lighting "addresses the need to improve visibility in areas where current conditions make it difficult to use the bidegorri at night or in low light conditions." This aims to "ensure safer and more comfortable transit, also promoting greater use of this public space throughout the year."
“"Improving lighting also means improving safety, accessibility, and the quality of public space. With this action, we take another step to consolidate the bidegorri as a safe, comfortable, and fully integrated axis in the daily life of the municipality."
This project, with a total investment of 38,617 euros (VAT included), "allows us to increase safety on a highly used route, strengthening its functionality and daily use," the mayor added. The work will be carried out at key points without altering the natural environment in which the bidegorri is integrated.
Furthermore, Iragorri also mentioned the improvement of the sports track at Eretza school, with an investment of 128,853 euros (VAT included). This will optimize "a key facility for the daily life of the municipality, both in the educational and sports fields," through the installation of new paving for greater functionality and resistance.
