Gastronomy will take center stage in Iurreta over the coming days with the celebration of the Jango Dot pintxo competition. The initiative's goal is to award the best creation and revitalize local hospitality. The event will run from Thursday to Sunday, bringing together seven local establishments, each competing with proposals specifically designed for the occasion. The route will extend through various points of the urban center and reach more peripheral areas such as the Goiuria neighborhood.
To offer an accessible gastronomic experience, each pintxo will be priced at 2.5 euros. Residents will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite using a card available at participating venues, which will be stamped after each consumption. Additionally, a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and gift set will be raffled among those who collect at least four stamps.
The Batzoki's proposal focuses on battered cod, accompanied by roasted peppers and vegetables, finished with a homemade vinaigrette. Very different is the offering from Olimpia Ibai-Ondo, which will compete with a potato bomb filled with bonito, egg yolk, and aioli. With a more meat-centric approach, Taberna Urien 'La Cuadra' presents a creation combining shredded pork, potato, and bacon.
Meanwhile, La Guipuzcoana Jatetxea offers a pintxo blending Iberian ham, zucchini, truffle sauce, and wild mushrooms on toasted bread, with a truffle vinegar reduction. At Bodeguilla, they have opted for a brioche filled with shredded cheek and tongue, fused with spicy sauces, mushrooms, and pickles. Similarly, Ikuspegi Berria proposes a creation where a potato filled with meat and foie incorporates a spicy touch. Finally, Gauargi will participate with a small burger featuring beef, cheddar, crispy onion, and a special sauce.
