According to the artist, despite having experienced an internal conflict throughout his career, he is clear that the balance between both disciplines is his path. In his words, “it is enriching to have so many components of both in one body.” As a result, he has worked with several companies and developed his personal project, 'Zirriborro'. The first work of this project was Hustu, and he now has a second creation called Desir underway.
Theater has been his companion since childhood, as he started at 6-7 years old. After ten years in theater, he studied scenic baccalaureate and, later, dramatic arts at Dantzerti. Around 15 years old, he began dancing, focusing mainly on contemporary dance. Much of his work has been in street theater, but he has also worked with the Dantzaz dance company for two years.
“"I feel most comfortable in that hybrid between dance and theater."
The 'Zirriborro' project emerged from his Final Degree Project, with the aim of investigating the connection between dance and dramatic art. The artist states that his works have a kind of dance or choreography, but it is not the intention of the performer. He moves from the needs of the body and improvisation, feeling comfortable in that hybrid. He believes that the stage demands truth, and that this has much to do with theater, emphasizing the importance of showing one's own truth above the technique and forms of dance.
“"Street theater is my true school: everything is alive, everything is moving forward."
Currently, he works with several companies, such as Hortzmuga Teatroa and the Marie de Jongh company, with the latter in street theater and with masks. In addition, he is involved in a production at the Pabellón 6 space in Bilbao. Desir, the second work of the 'Zirriborro' project, has been one of the selected projects in the Zubiak call from Karrikan –the street arts platform of Euskal Herria–. This will guarantee him economic support, artistic residencies, and around ten performances in the coming months. He will present it at the Umore Azoka in Leioa in May 2027.
