This year, the competition highlights human rights, peace, coexistence, and interculturality. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 17, at San Agustin kultur gunea, from 11:00 to 13:00. The event will be presented by Maite Lopez and Garazi Magunagoitia, and will feature a performance by dancers from L'Atelier.
This tenth edition has once again seen broad participation from young people in the municipality. In total, approximately 450 students from five educational centers in the town have taken part in the competition. The participating centers include Zabalarra, Landako, Durangoko Institutua, Jesuitak, and San Antonio.
One hundred 'booktrailers' have been submitted, divided into two age categories. In category A, for individuals born between 2012 and 2014, 53 works were presented, while in category B, for young people born between 2008 and 2011, 47 proposals were received. Of these, 30 'booktrailers' have been selected for projection during the final event, 15 from each category.
The competition aims to foster reflection, knowledge, and an approach to different social realities through creativity and audiovisual language.
Several awards will be presented during the gala. The prize for the best 'Book Trailer' in category A will be awarded, consisting of 300 euros and a set of books. Similarly, the best 'Book Trailer' in category B will also receive 300 euros and a set of books. Additionally, an award for the best screenplay will be given, also with 300 euros and a set of books. Furthermore, the attending public will play a significant role in the event, as they will be able to participate in the selection of the Audience Award. The winning work will receive an e-reader for each team member.
