The Basque Railway Museum of Euskotren, a public company of the Basque Government, will increase its historic train journey offerings in August. The three usual steam train departures will be maintained on weekends, and diesel locomotive services will be added from Tuesdays to Fridays. The diesel trains will depart at 12:00 and 17:30, covering the 4.5 kilometers between the museum's headquarters and the Lasao station.
These new services will be added to the museum's regular seasonal offerings, which include three steam train departures every weekend until November.
The Basque Railway Museum's facilities house one of the best European collections related to railways, featuring steam, diesel, and electric locomotives, railcars, and various wagons. Additionally, it holds one of the most complete collections of machine tools in the Basque Country, train uniforms from the late 19th century, and one of the world's finest collections of train clocks.
The museum is open from 10:30 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:30, Tuesdays to Saturdays. On Sundays and public holidays (except Mondays), it is open from 10:30 to 14:00.
