The Basque Government stated that "it will be a special moment; practically speaking, an opportunity that will not be repeated for most citizens in our region." According to forecasts, the Moon will begin to cover the Sun around 7:30 PM, the totality phase will start at 8:27 PM, and an hour later, the sky will return to normal.

"It will be an opportunity to be moved and to experience firsthand an event that departs from everyday experiences, but also a way to understand our place in the universe and to realize the value of scientific knowledge."

To safely observe the eclipse, it is essential to use certified ISO 12312-2 glasses. These reduce the amount of visible light and block infrared and ultraviolet radiation. Standard sunglasses (ISO 12312-1) are not safe for viewing the Sun. Even with certified glasses, it is recommended not to look for more than 45 seconds continuously, with short breaks in between.
During the totality phase, the eclipse can be viewed with the naked eye when the Moon completely hides the Sun, but as soon as sunlight reappears, protective glasses must be worn again. Binoculars, telescopes, or cameras concentrate light, increasing the risk; only devices with certified solar filters installed by experts should be used for viewing through them.
