After commencing last March and now concluding, the Arrasate City Council has organized a special program to celebrate the work carried out in Etxezarreta Park this Sunday. Throughout the morning, various activities took place, and with favorable weather, participants enjoyed a walk from Arruena to the park.
Upon arrival at the park, Pello Garai, Rural Environment Technician for the Arrasate City Council, and Iñaki Garmendia, a botanist, led a guided tour. Garai explained the park's history and the council's interventions, while Garmendia discussed the plants installed in the new natural area.
Additionally, the Txatxilipurdi association set up a play area for children. Following the guided tour and children's activities, at noon, the Combo from Arrasate Musikal performed a concert in the central area of the park.
“"This area will have countless uses. It could be for end-of-term excursions from schools, it's a very suitable space for the initiatives we do at Txatxilipurdi, and I believe it can also be a good space for leisure for the people of Arrasate, a climatic refuge for the hottest days."
Iñaki Telleria, organizer for the Txatxilipurdi association, reflected on the potential activities for the park, viewing it as a space for leisure and a climatic refuge.
