Durangaldea's Basque Security Forum Gathers Over 40 Representatives

Durangaldea's Basque Security Forum brought together over 40 representatives today at the Bartolome Ertzilla Conservatory in Durango to reflect on the region's security challenges and future projects.

The Basque Security Forum of Durangaldea convened over 40 representatives today at the Bartolome Ertzilla Conservatory in Durango. Social, economic, and institutional representatives from the municipalities of Abadiño, Amorebieta, Arantzazu, Areatza, Artea, Atxondo, Bedia, Berriz, Dima, Durango, Elorrio, Garai, Igorre, Iurreta, Izurtza, Lemoa, Mañaria, Otxandio, Ubide, Zaldibar, and Zeanuri reflected on future security challenges.
The objective of these meetings is to gather experiences and proposals to improve joint responses in areas such as prevention, emergency management, cybersecurity, road safety, and coexistence.
Among those attending were the Minister of Security, Bingen Zupiria; the Vice-Minister of Security, Ricardo Ituarte; institutional representatives from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and various municipalities; and officials from the Ertzaintza, local police forces, Civil Protection, Osakidetza, and the Red Cross.
Today's meeting marked the thirtieth session of the Basque Security Forum. Previous gatherings have taken place in the regions of Txorierri, Hernanialdea, Urdaibai, Urola Garaia, Uribe Kosta, Urola Erdia, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Ibaizabal, Bidasoa, Mungialdea, Goierri, Debagoiena, Meatzaldea, Rioja and Montaña Alavesa, Oarsoaldea, Bilbao, Aiaraldea, Llanada Alavesa, Urola Kosta, Lea-Artibai, Ezkerraldea, Debabarrena, Enkarterri, Araba and Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia, as well as a session with young people.
The Basque Security Forum is a participatory process aimed at building a shared diagnosis of security from an integral perspective. Through this process, various institutions, entities, and agents find a common ground to address pressing security concerns.
Following today's meeting in Durango, the next session is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, in Tolosa.
