The Basque nationalist coalition criticizes the absence of visible progress and clear information regarding the project to renew the fitness room machinery at the Landako sports center. In March 2025, the governing team announced that almost all machines would be renewed, a commitment reiterated with the approval of a 1.2 million euro investment for this year.
“"There are no visible advances or clear information."
According to the coalition, this lack of execution contrasts with growing public discontent, which was already expressed publicly at the beginning of the year, and reflects a clear disconnect between political announcements and the reality of the service.
Adding to this situation is the management of the sports service contract, which expired in January and is currently under an extraordinary extension. This fact, the opposition argues, once again demonstrates the municipal government's lack of foresight, as it has been unable to anticipate a known and avoidable situation.
Furthermore, they highlighted that the municipal budgets have been prepared based on new public prices that do not yet exist. These projected revenues implied an increase of nearly 30% compared to 2025, amounting to almost 400,000 euros in additional funds. This situation, they warn, raises questions about the economic viability of Durango Kirolak and the potential need for extraordinary contributions due to a lack of liquidity.
