Following the positive reception of the first edition, which concluded with 169 photographs, the contest returns with the aim of continuing to foster creativity, promote the cultural and responsible use of social media, and enhance the town's tourism promotion through the eyes of those who know it best: its residents and visitors.
The initiative encourages participants to capture images that reflect the essence of the locality, whether it be an emblematic landscape, a little-known corner, a special sunset, a lively park, an everyday scene, or an aspect related to local gastronomy and heritage.
To participate, photographs must be published on Instagram from a public account, mentioning @durangobizkaia and including the hashtags #mirinconfavorito, #mirinconfavoritodedurango2026, #DurangoBizkaia, and #DurangokoTxokorikPolitena2026, in addition to completing the corresponding registration form. Participants must follow the @certamenmirinconfavorito account and can submit as many images as they wish, with one registration per work.
The contest is open to all adults with a public Instagram account. Photographs must have been taken in Durango and recognizably show some aspect of the municipality. Images can be taken with a mobile phone or any other photographic device, and digital editing is permitted. Publications must be made on Instagram starting June 1, 2026, the contest's start date.

The contest will feature two local prizes: a first prize of 200 euros and a second prize of 100 euros. Additionally, the winning photograph will be reproduced on various promotional materials, such as postcards, stickers, and posters.
Furthermore, the winning work will represent Durango in the national phase of 'Mi rincón favorito', where it will compete against selected photographs from across the country for the following prizes: a first prize of 500 euros, a second of 400, a third of 300, a fourth of 200, and a fifth of 100 euros, along with ten honorable mentions of 50 euros each.
A jury composed of institutional representatives from Durango and professionals linked to the audiovisual sector will be responsible for selecting the winning works. The participation period will be open from June 1 to July 15, inclusive. Local prizes will be announced on July 24, while the national winners will be announced starting September 27, coinciding with World Tourism Day.
