The first two dams are one meter high, while the third, situated under the bridge, measures approximately half a meter. These structures will not be entirely removed; parts will be retained to ensure the stability of the riverbanks and the bridge.
The demolition of the first two dams was carried out under the supervision of an archaeologist, despite studies concluding they have no patrimonial value. A Plan for Environmental Surveillance will also be applied during the works.
The works are expected to be completed within six working days. The total budget for the action amounts to 56,079 euros, of which 22,431 euros will be financed by the European Union.
As part of the same project, similar works were carried out last year in the Altzolarats valley, on the Granada stream.
