The Berriz Town Council has installed new information plaques at various points within the Berrizjauregi botanical-historical garden. This initiative is part of ongoing improvement and valorization efforts in the area, complementing existing signage. The aim is to provide a more comprehensive view of the garden's entirety, reinforcing its historical, botanical, and cultural character.
The pedestals are distributed across different locations within the garden and offer a brief explanation for each element. They also include a QR code that grants access to extended information via the website www.berrizjauregi.eus. The content is available in Basque, Spanish, English, and French.
Among the elements now featured with this signage are the monolith honoring the Amezua family, the centenary oak trees, the millstone, Iturriza and the sprout of the Tree of Gernika, the small newt, the coat of arms of the Marquis of Berriz, Gurugú, the pond and errekamari, as well as the old coach house. Through this measure, the Council seeks to facilitate understanding of the area's history and contribute to the conservation and dissemination of its cultural heritage.
