The celebrations will kick off with the traditional raising of the Txopo, accompanied by music and dance performed by Iluntze and Txanbolin Txistu Taldea. Additionally, a tribute will be paid to the person of the year, marking the official start of the festivities.
The festival calendar includes a variety of events. On May 1, a costume day will be held under the theme “World Mythologies,” featuring a meal at the fronton and a parade through Trañabarrena starting at 7:00 PM. The first weekend will also offer concerts, children's activities, and the customary tortilla and paella competitions.
The program will continue the following weekend with events such as the final of the San Prudencio handball championship and a bertso session at Errota Kultur Etxea, featuring bertsolaris Igor Elortza, Onintza Enbeita, Eneko Abasolo “Abarkas,” and Irune Basagoiti. The Gazte Eguna (Youth Day), rural sports exhibitions, and a senior citizens' meal are also planned before the closing ceremony with the lowering of the Txopo.
“"The organizers have called for enjoying the celebrations with respect."
To ensure safe festivities, an information and support point against gender-based violence will be set up during the events, aiming to prevent potential aggressions and offer assistance in any situation.
