During this visit, participants will discover the facilities and operations at the Añarbe dam, which supplies water to 44% of the population of Gipuzkoa. The tour will also address how these infrastructures cope with the consequences of climate change by conserving the watershed to enhance the resilience of water supply systems.
Additionally, attendees will experience firsthand the beautiful natural surroundings, gaining a deeper understanding of this space of great naturalistic and landscape value, where the combination of forest and water creates a privileged environment.
As explained by Iban Zubeldia, head of the communication service at Aguas del Añarbe, "visitors will be able to answer common questions, such as how much water is released from the dam at any given moment, what the ecological flow is and its purpose, or how the reservoir functions and what decisions are made in case of flood risk".
The visit will take place on Sunday, October 4th, and requires prior registration. It costs 5 euros per person, a deposit that will be refunded to attendees in the form of a voucher redeemable at designated establishments within the Saretuz network.
The bus for the guided tours will depart at 10:00 AM from the bus stop located in front of the Renfe North station. The return will be around 2:00 PM.
