Lezo is celebrating its Pentecost festivities in an excellent atmosphere, supported by good weather and a variety of organized events.

Lezo is currently celebrating its Pentecost festivities, and the favorable weather has encouraged residents and visitors alike to participate in the numerous organized events. Music and dance have been the main ingredients of the second day of festivities, with Lezo's inhabitants enjoying the great atmosphere in the town center.
Early in the morning, dulzaina players from the region led a 'diana' (morning serenade), and at midday, retirees from Aitona-Amonen Borda turned the Gurutze Santuaren plaza into their dance floor. Simultaneously, outside the Koldobike Gezala fronton, a traditional dance event featuring early 20th-century styles commenced, with couples animating the old town streets despite the high temperatures.
They were not the only ones braving the heat. The parade of giants and 'cabezudos' (big-heads), inspired by the pirate Zabarre and his companion María Labaien, started from the main entrance of Lezo Herri Eskola and proceeded towards the heart of the municipality, attracting many families. The 'txistulari' players from Munttar provided the musical backdrop for their procession.
A few minutes later, melodies performed by a group from the Lezo Municipal Music School filled the plaza. The afternoon continued with entertainment including bouncy castles for children, a 'truk' card game championship, pelota finals, and various musical performances.
This Sunday will mark the farewell to the festivities with a day full of activities. Highlights include the young creators' market in Karlos Saldise square and the puppet show 'Alaia Galtzagorria' in Gurutze Santuaren plaza. The youngest attendees will once again dress as pirates for a treasure hunt, and the grand finale will feature a 'fire bull' performance accompanied by the Band of the Lezo Municipal Music School.
