The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council has requested a meeting with Emakunde and the mayor of Errenteria to identify "what may have failed in the protocols and municipal mechanisms" regarding sexual assault cases linked to the Xenpelar Bertso Eskola.
According to the provincial spokesperson, this meeting is necessary to understand "what measures need to be adapted to improve protocols" and ensure that "incidents of this nature do not happen again," so that "affected individuals, their families, and the public can regain trust" in institutions. This is particularly relevant as the individual in question had already been reported in 2018 for similar incidents.
