In the morning, students from the three local schools, Oriarte, Sasoeta-Zumaburu, and Landaberri, created colorful murals in Okendo square. Although they had creative freedom, all creations had to include this year's motto, hand drawings, and the Bizipoza group's logo. These murals will be displayed in local shops. The morning session concluded with dances to the rhythm of local sudurgorris and a group photo, with the clown Porrotx acting as facilitator.
The afternoon began with the awareness session 'What do you know about Africa?'. Members of the Ndank Ndank association, Eli Dominguez and Mamadou Sarr, spoke about Senegal at the Mercero center. Youngsters from LH 3 of the Gazteklub of Ttakun Kultur Elkartea listened attentively to explanations about the African continent and its curiosities, asking numerous questions.
Continuing with the festivities, Gazteklub students from 4th, 5th, and 6th grades returned to Okendo square to perform choreographies. They were accompanied by three songs: Elkarri by the Ndank Ndank association, Bizipoza auzolan by Bizipoza, and Eskuetan by Pirritx, Porrotx eta Marimotots. Despite the rain, the music festival continued, under umbrellas or the town hall, without dampening the participants' spirits.
Numerous participants took to the stage to showcase their dances and music. Members of the Sahararekin Elkartasuna Lasarte-Oria platform performed a zaghareet (Saharan cry) exhibition, accompanied by Mertxe Rodriguez and the txalapartaris of Txalagore. Lierni Rekondo recited a bertso about the reality of “Old prejudices, but new perspectives”. Later, representatives from Senegal filled the square with drum rhythms and even dared to sing Ikusi mendizaleak. Following them, members of Semblante Andaluz danced two sevillanas, making way for representatives from Nicaragua, who displayed their traditional costumes and danced, among others, to the song Nicaragüa Nicaragüita.
To conclude this beautiful day, all participants, along with members of the Xumela Abesbatza, sang Txoriak Txori on stage. Finally, they headed to Ttakunenea to enjoy delicacies, bringing the Milakultura festival to an end.
