Hernani has reached the Interpueblos Championship final for the second consecutive year, having defeated Oiartzun in the cadet and youth categories.

For the second year in a row, Hernani will be in the final of the Basque Interpueblos Hand Championship. The reigning champions have reached the final in Atano after defeating Oiartzun in the semifinals, winning both matches with an aggregate score of 5-0. The senior category match was suspended due to leaks.
The Hernani players went to Oiartzun aiming to seal the tie, and they did so without giving their opponents a chance for an upset. After an initially close match, Oier Arsuaga and Lier Zugasti displayed significant dominance in the cadet category, defeating Erauntzetamurgil and Etxepare 22-6. This victory secured Hernani's place in the final, with the back player returning strong for the main event.
Hernani did not stop there, and in the youth category, Ekhi Oses and Manex Alberdi also clearly prevailed against Iradi and Oyarzabal. They quickly gained an advantage and won the match 22-12.
A heavy downpour followed, causing leaks in the fronton. As there was nothing left to play for, the senior category match was called off.
Hernani will play the final on June 28th at the Atano fronton in Donostia. Their opponent will be decided tomorrow morning, as they await the return leg of the other semifinal between Aduna and Bergara. Bergara won the first match 2-1, holding a four-point advantage; however, the return leg will be played in Aduna, leaving the tie wide open.
