The festivities in Astigarraga will begin on July 24th, with Juantxo Zuaznabar and Periko Garmendia set to launch the txupinazo (opening firecracker) at 7:00 PM from the Town Hall balcony. This year, citizens themselves selected the opening speakers through a questionnaire conducted by the Council.
The celebrations will extend until Sunday. The Council will expand the txosna (food stall) area, and the Astindu association, in collaboration with AGA, will promote Basque music on July 24th at several hospitality establishments.
An extensive program for children and youth has been prepared, including a children's txupinazo, a parade of kilikis (small figures) and giants, children's meals, a chocolate event, street performances, an aquatic park, and inflatables.
Attractions will be available at affordable prices: 1.50 euros on Wednesday, and between 2.50 and 3 euros on other days. Vouchers will also be offered, and attractions will operate without music or lights daily from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM to promote inclusion.
Numerous popular meals will be held, alongside various cultural activities and sports events, such as the tamborrada, larrain dantza, cider tasting, toka and bowling championships, and bertsolari (improvised Basque poetry) sessions.
Music will also be a highlight, with performances by various bands and DJs. The txosna area will host concerts organized by AGA.
To ensure the festivities are respectful and inclusive, the use of firecrackers will be reduced. Additionally, resources against sexist violence will be available, including an attention point and a telephone service (638 206586).
