The mayor of Errenteria, Aizpea Otaegi, will testify this Friday at the request of the Prosecutor's Office for Minors to verify the content of information sent by the Gipuzkoa council to the Judicial Police and Ertzaintza on Wednesday concerning alleged sexist assaults at the Xenpelar Bertso Eskola.

The City Council has recalled that the Prosecutor's Office for Minors is responsible for "guaranteeing the adequate protection" of minors, and the objective, in addition to clarifying the information, is to "help identify possible victims".
After emphasizing that the City Council "has acted at all times according to the wishes of the victims," they have stressed that they "have acted with transparency and collaboration" with the Ertzaintza and the Judicial Police since first becoming aware in May of the reported incidents related to Xenpelar Bertso Eskola.

"It is the mayor's intention to continue collaborating with the various institutions, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ertzaintza, and the Provincial Council's Equality bodies, as has been done so far."
