Errenteria will once again celebrate its Madalenas festival from July 21 to 25, featuring more than 140 activities.

Organized by the Festival Commission with citizen collaboration, the program will offer proposals for all ages, combining tradition, culture, sports, and leisure. The festive agenda includes exhibitions, theatrical performances, sports activities, tamborradas, dance shows, contests, and gastronomic tastings, alongside approximately 55 musical performances catering to various styles and age groups. Events will take place both during the day and at night.
A central moment will be the launch of the txupinazo (opening rocket), scheduled for July 21 at 7:00 PM in the Herriko Plaza. The Festival Commission has encouraged citizens to participate, and the event can also be followed via a giant screen in the Alameda or through the live broadcast on the Herri Bizia website. The program also features the traditional colorful txupinazo txiki and a Holi Festa for young people.
The opening day will commence with a traditional popular meal on the same day at 2:00 PM in the Herriko Plaza. Tickets are priced at 17 euros for adults and 11 euros for children. A vegan menu will also be available at the adult price. Tickets can be purchased until July 12 at Bar Reyna (Alameda) and Desira Kafe (Xabier Olaskoaga square).
Additionally, the official Madalenas scarves, red and blue, are available for seven euros at about fifteen establishments spread across Errenteria's neighborhoods.
The Festival Commission emphasized that the Madalenas represent a space for coexistence and citizen participation, merging tradition with the municipality's current reality. They have called for enjoying the celebrations with respect, responsibility, and a good atmosphere, aiming for safe, inclusive festivities free from aggression or discrimination. Residents and visitors are encouraged to actively engage in the various activities to ensure the Madalenas remain a festival born from and lived by the community.
