The Errenteria Town Hall has organized a session for parents of the Xenpelar Bertso Eskola, following recent allegations of sexist aggression.

The Errenteria Town Hall has organized a professional session for parents of students associated with the Xenpelar Bertso Eskola, encompassing both the current and previous academic years. The initiative aims to provide tools and support in the wake of recent public accusations of aggression and inappropriate behavior by the Feminist Movements of Errenteria and Oiartzun, and Bertsozale Elkartea.
This initiative is part of the actions announced by the City Council after the three entities publicly reported alleged aggressions committed by an individual linked to the Bertso Eskola's activities. Upon learning of the events, the Town Hall condemned the seriousness of the allegations, announced the suspension of the bertsolaritza school's activities, and made available municipal resources to victims and their families.
As explained by the Town Hall, a meeting was held with the families of the Bertso Eskola students the day before the complaint became public. This meeting aimed to directly convey the received information and communicate the initial decisions made. A professional specializing in gender-based violence also participated to address the families' questions and concerns.
The City Council has now taken a further step by convening a new session scheduled for next Tuesday, June 2, at 6:30 PM in the Joxepa Antoni Aranberri Anitzenea building. The invitation extends to parents of students who have participated in the Bertso Eskola this academic year, as well as families of children and adolescents who were part of the activity in previous years.
The Town Hall justifies this expanded invitation by noting that the individual subject to the allegations has been associated with the Bertso Eskola's activities for years and that, based on current information, the reported incidents do not appear to be isolated.
The session will be led by an expert professional in gender-based violence, who has previously intervened in other cases of harassment and violence. The objective is to offer guidance to families, provide tools to cope with the situation, and contribute to the appropriate individual and collective management of the consequences arising from the reported events.
The City Council has reiterated its commitment to implementing the necessary resources to support those affected and has encouraged families to participate in this meeting, designed as a space for information, accompaniment, and support in response to a situation that has caused significant concern within the municipality.
