The cadet and junior teams of Usurbil Kirol Elkartea have had a successful season, meeting all their initial objectives. They will now compete in the unified promotion phases to the Basque League, where two out of four participating clubs will achieve promotion. The cadets will play in Usurbil this weekend, and the juniors in Vitoria-Gasteiz the following week.
“"We have had a good season, yes. We have managed to meet all the objectives we had so far and now we are going to give our all in this promotion phase to compete in the Basque League from the very beginning next year."
The teams have shown positive evolution over the last season, thanks to the involvement of the technical staff and dedicated physical, technical, and tactical work. The junior team, although not as flawless as the cadets, finished as runners-up in Gipuzkoa and reached the promotion phase.
“"This year, the results have been with us from the start, and I believe that has led to an increase in the motivation level of the teammates. We have a new coach this year, and the good atmosphere and attitude among us have also helped."
It can be stated that Usurbil Kirol Elkartea is among the top ten clubs in the Basque Country, alongside the six clubs that already hold a place in the elite of youth handball. In the promotion phase, they will face Corazonistas, Tolosa, and Muskiz. The cadets will also participate in the Spanish championship, competing against teams such as Anaitasuna from Pamplona and Barça.
Club members encourage young people to try handball, emphasizing the sport's long history in Usurbil and the opportunity to have fun with friends.
