The txuri-urdin team began its journey to victory on Friday afternoon in Zubieta, and 48 hours later, returned to its usual training ground. Fans had to wait a few more hours to welcome their beloved team.
Although the team was expected to arrive at Hondarribia airport shortly after 13:00, they eventually arrived an hour later. Before returning to Zubieta, Real's players traveled through the main streets of Pasaia, Orereta, and Donostia, gathering a large number of supporters along the roadsides.
They arrived at the Zubieta training ground before 16:00, where many fans had been waiting for hours. Despite knowing that the arrival would be delayed, supporters patiently waited under the sun to give a well-deserved welcome to the players who arrived in two buses.
Shouting, dressed in txuri-urdin attire and accessories, and many with their phone cameras on to capture the moment, fans experienced a historic event in Zubieta. People of all ages gathered, including residents from nearby towns and different parts of Gipuzkoa. Great emotion prevailed, and some fans went down to the Bugati gas station to greet the players as they passed in their vehicles.
The celebrations for Real's victory have only just begun. The official reception to celebrate the Copa del Rey victory is scheduled for this Monday, April 20, in Donostia.
