The visit aimed to understand the essence of Pasaia Badia Aktiboa (PBA), an initiative framed within the Mugiment Action Plan to foster a more active Basque society. Since 2018, the program has been serving citizens, building networks with local agents, and developing various initiatives to achieve «a more active municipality».
Among these initiatives are the Tipi-Tapa outings for retirees and the Altxa gazte program, which encourages young people to improve their physical condition in a safe and educational environment.
The parliamentary representatives had the opportunity to experience these activities firsthand. They first visited the Trintxerpe-Pasai San Pedro outpatient clinic, home to one of the pillars of Pasaia's Guidance Service. Health center officials explained their referral processes, which involve direct contact with Pasaia's Sports and Social Action departments.
In the second part of the visit, Sara Dorronsoro, technical head of the Physical Activity and Sports Area; Xabier Rodríguez, Pasaia Badia Aktiboa counselor; and Maddi Marquet, Pasaia Badia Aktiboa counselor, detailed the strategy at the Udal Aretoa.
Attendees included the president of the Health Commission, Elena Lete (Eusko Abertzaleak); the vice-president of the Health Commission, Rebeka Ubera (EH Bildu); Health Commission member Jon Aiartza (Eusko Abertzaleak); and Health Commission member Ima Garrastatxu (EH Bildu). Also present were several members of Pasaia's municipal government, led by Mayor Teo Alberro, along with technical staff from the Mugiment Action Plan and representatives from Pasaia City Council's Sports and Social Action departments, as well as the heads of Primary Care units from OSI Donostia at the outpatient clinic.
