The initiative will analyze the current state of the music scene, addressing its impact on the transmission of Basque language and the appreciation of Basque culture. Music journalist and critic Nando Cruz will participate in the presentation, along with representatives from cultural spaces such as Jimmy Jazz, Bira, Sanagustin Kulturgunea, and the Agiñako eliza zaharra.
This will not be a mere presentation, but rather the first step in a collective process of dialogue and experimentation. It will explore whether the community creates music or music creates the community, and examine the changes and losses over the last decade.
The event will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, starting with a press conference at 9:30 AM and the main session from 10:00 AM onwards. The event will be held at the Badalab Linguistic Innovation Laboratory, on the 3rd floor in Errenteria.
Participants will include Goiatz Oiartzabal, director of Badalab, and Nando Cruz, music journalist, as well as representatives from the aforementioned cultural venues.
