In several towns in Debagoiena, including Elgeta, Aramaio, and Leintz Gatzaga, the San Juan Eve bonfire has been canceled, while in other locations, events have been reduced or modified due to the heat.

Several municipalities in Debagoiena, including Elgeta, Aramaio (in the Azkoaga neighborhood), and Leintz Gatzaga, have canceled the traditional San Juan Eve bonfire. In other towns, only the bonfire organized by the local council will be permitted, with a particular ban on those in rural areas. Furthermore, the use of firecrackers, fireworks, and similar pyrotechnic devices will be prohibited due to fire risk.
Changes have also been announced in the event schedules of several towns; some activities will be canceled and replaced with alternatives to cope with the heat and ensure safety.
In Arrasate, the usual bonfire will be lit in the Herriko Plaz a at 10:30 PM, but it will be the only one in the town; others are forbidden. The use of pyrotechnics is also prohibited, except for the initial and final rockets of the bull run, considered essential safety elements. Children's inflatable attractions will be water-based and have been moved to Zaldibar. The popular youth meal will take place in the Azoka Plaza, and the children's disco party will be held in the children's park in Zaldibar. Two additional stops have been added to the Errementari dance for the dancers to hydrate.
On June 24th, the tribute to those over 80 years old will be canceled, and the concert by the Arrasate Musikal band, scheduled for Monterron Park, will be held in the San Francisco church. The exhibition of bullfighters will also be canceled, and attendees who purchased tickets will receive a refund. The recommendation of the firefighters regarding the maintenance of fireworks will be followed, given the yellow alert for fires.
Other towns have also implemented measures. In Oñati, the bonfire will be lit in Olaitturri at 10:00 PM, and organizers and residents in rural neighborhoods have been asked not to light fires in the countryside. In Bergara, the bonfires in the Seminary courtyard and in the Osintxu square will be reduced in size, and those in rural areas and around farmhouses will be prohibited. In Aretxabaleta, only the bonfire in the Herriko Plaz a will be lit at 10:15 PM; the Dantza Plaza and the parade of giants and cabezudos have been canceled and replaced with water inflatables in Mitarte street.
In Eskoriatza, the 'Txorimaloaren bila' event and the cabezudos have been canceled. The bonfire will be smaller than usual, at 10:00 PM. The snack organized by the Olazar retirees' association will also be canceled. In Antzuola, the bonfire's schedule has been moved to 10:30 PM and will be smaller. In Aramaio, the bonfire in the Azkoaga neighborhood will not be lit due to the alert status. In Leintz Gatzaga, water games will be held instead of the bonfire.
