Salaberria Brothers and Irribarria-Balerdi Advance to Semifinals in Bergara

The pairs showcased their dominance in matches held at the Bergara municipal fronton, securing their spot in the next stage.

In the Promises and Senior category matches held at the Bergara municipal fronton, the Salaberria brothers and the Irribarria-Balerdi pair secured their qualification for the semifinals, in a day filled with excitement and dominance.

In the Promises category, the Salaberria brothers delivered a clear exhibition against Aldaz and Meabe, with a final score of 22-8. The pair from Irurtzun displayed a solid game with few errors, maintaining absolute dominance throughout the match and earning their ticket to the semifinals.
On the other hand, the Senior category quarter-final was full of emotion, with Irribarria and Balerdi winning 22-21 against Etxeberria and Bernaola. The match started difficult for the winners, who were six points down at one point. However, they managed to tie the score at 18-all.
Despite Etxeberria and Bernaola taking the lead again (21-18), just one point away from victory, they failed to close out the match. Irribarria found his rhythm in the final stretch, and with Balerdi's support from the back, they secured a four-point run that gave them the victory and qualification.
The championship continues, with the next quarter-finals scheduled for April 28. In the Promises category, Etxabe-Okiñena (Bergara-Buruzgain) will face Madina-A.Etxeberria (Intxurre-Tolosa). In the Senior category, Igoa-Sotil (Irurtzun-Larraun) will compete against Cestau-Elorz (Behar Zana-Upo Mendi). The winners will secure their spot in the semifinals on May 19. All events will begin at 7:30 PM at the municipal fronton.
