A large group of residents from San Martín Egoitza recently crossed the circus tent entrance with a mix of curiosity and emotion that transcends age. Thanks to an initiative jointly promoted by the Oñati City Council and Gure Zirkua, nearly 70 seniors visited the tent set up in Olaitturri. With accessibility measures provided by the company, the residents shared a different kind of morning with the show's artists and staff, chatting with them, singing songs, and enjoying fragments of the performance.
The arrival of Gure Zirkua in Oñati has also revived a virtually disappeared image in the municipality. No traveling company had set up its tent there since 2005. The last one was 'Holiday', which used to be installed in the Okunbardin area. Two decades later, this 'nomadic' universe has returned, driven by the project initiated by actors Iker Galartza and Joseba Usabiaga.
The Basque proposal will remain in Olaitturri until the first weekend of June. Scheduled performances include this Saturday (6:00 PM), Sunday (12:00 PM and 5:00 PM), June 5th (7:00 PM), and June 6th (12:00 PM and 5:00 PM). This initiative has solidified its prestige in recent years, notably after receiving the Abadia Saria award for its innovative contribution to promoting the Basque language through leisure and popular culture. Since its creation in 2017, Gure Zirkua has undergone significant artistic and technical evolution, becoming an accessible and attractive cultural reference for family audiences.
Public response has been very positive. Tickets can be purchased through the official Gure Zirkua website.
