“"If the City Council wants to carry out works in Espaloia, let them do so, but they should not use the school to justify unfeasible projects. We have been able to verify that some of the initial proposals cannot be sustained. Insisting on them is to generate false hopes and frustration."

The PNV of Elgeta has strongly criticized the statements made by the EH Bildu municipal government regarding the school canteen project, denouncing a "lack of rigor" and sending a message of calm to families, emphasizing that viable solutions exist.
The PNV of Elgeta has stated that the preliminary school canteen project presented by the EH Bildu municipal government was "unfeasible". According to the jeltzales, regulations do not permit locating a school canteen outside the educational center and in a municipal building. Furthermore, they have reminded that the Basque Government establishes clear criteria for implementing their own kitchens, which are usually located in centers with more than 200 diners.
They have also criticized the investment proposal, stating that a "poorly planned economic allocation of 300,000 euros" was announced. The jeltzales believe that this investment was disproportionate in relation to the number of potential users. Likewise, they have denounced that the project presented by the municipal government also foresaw external works in the theater, in addition to the school kitchen.
The PNV of Elgeta has conveyed a message of reassurance to families, emphasizing that the service is guaranteed and will be maintained. They have indicated that, even if not with its own kitchen, the service can be offered through another model, such as a zone canteen, where food is prepared in a nearby kitchen and transported under optimal conditions. They added that this model must meet important sanitary and logistical requirements, such as limiting transport time or adapting facilities.
The jeltzales have also criticized working with "a part" of the educational community and have denounced that the Department of Education was excluded in the initial phase. The PNV of Elgeta has reaffirmed its commitment to "quality public education" and the search for "realistic" solutions that respond to the needs of Elgeta's families, based on "rigor" and "institutional collaboration".
